This monumental work by Henry Purcell is a classic tale of the gods and man daring to love, play, and battle in each others’ worlds. This new, fully staged production, directed by Vanessa Dinning, retells the story anew through a 21st Century lens. Featuring Victoria Mature (Dido), Evan White (Aeneas), and Brendan Nguyen (Conductor), with chamber orchestra.

During the early months of WWI on the battle fields in Belgium, thousands of men put down their guns and left the protection of trenches to meet their enemies in “no man’s land”. This story reminds us of the atrocities of war, our common humanity, and the hope of a peaceful future.
