More about ArtsBusXpress

ArtsBusXpress underwrites field trip transportation, the "missing link," that connects San Diego city and county school children with arts and sciences experiences. The program serves 498,000 children in 42 school districts and 646 schools in San Diego County. Every donation aids in sending students to a culturally enriching experience as an extension of their school education. We need your help to ensure that San Diego's school children continue the academic process our program encourages.

Over 174 arts organizations provide free or discounted entry to their venues. Teachers are required to include culturally-relevant fieldtrips as part of the school experience. School buses sit idle on school parking lots between 9 am and 2 pm.  ArtsBusXpress provides that needed funding through bus grants to teachers. Each donation aids in sending students on "A Ride to the Arts and Sciences!"

Cultural learning experiences by children exposed to the arts and sciences contribute to the development of academic skills, including the areas of reading, mathematics and language, and the development of certain thinking, social and motivational skills that are considered basic for success in school, life and work.

More about ArtReach San Diego

ArtReach is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization that takes working artists into K - 6 schools throughout San Diego County to provide hands-on visual art education workshops. We believe art opens the door to limitless possibilities and teaches young people to think critically and originally. And, that every child should have the opportunity to make art despite budget cuts and regardless of socioeconomic status. The team that brings ArtWalk events to San Diego every year created ArtReach in 2007. Since then, we have worked with thousands of students and families.
