Christopher Allen - Music Director / Pianist

Christopher Allen, originally from Portsmouth, Ohio, has been living in San Diego since 1982. For San Diego Opera, he was a production assistant, ballet pianist, and music director and pianist for the San Diego Opera Ensemble. For San Diego Master Chorale, under Martin Wright’s leadership, he was assistant director and Interim Director. In earlier years, he was principal pianist. For the San Diego Symphony Summer Pops, he prepped choral groups for Broadway Pops concerts. Various choral groups Mr. Allen has conducted are: San Diego Women’s Chorus, San Diego Men’s Chorus, Pacific Men’s Chorale, and Encore Vocal Ensemble. He has also conducted the Concert Choir at San Diego State University for several years, as well as the San Diego Children’s Choir. Chris also is a choral arranger and vocal coach. He is organist at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
