Kiana Bell - Mezzo Soprano
Kiana Bell, mezzo soprano, began her operatic journey in the spring of 2011, appearing as Bess (Porgy and Bess) in an opera scenes concert. Since then, she has also performed in scenes as Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel). Some of her full roles include Praskowia (The Merry Widow), Cleo (The Most Happy Fella), and Cendrillon (Cendrillon), all with Point Loma Opera Theatre.
Kiana is beginning to create ripples within the rest of San Diego's classical music scene as well. Along with performing as a soloist with the San Diego Youth Symphony (Aleko), she has been a prize winner at the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions (San Diego), La Jolla Symphony and Chorus Young Artists Competition, the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, and the Inaugural Messiah Soloist Competition at USD. She also sang with the San Diego Opera Chorus during its 2013 and 2014 seasons. Kiana recently earned her B.A. in Music at Point Loma Nazarene University and completed a season as a Festival Artist with Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre.
