Eden Tremayne, Soprano

Eden Tremayne hails from Vancouver, BC and holds a Master’s and Undergraduate degree in Opera from The University of British Columbia where she studied under the tutelage of Heather Thompson-Price.

 

Eden was selected as the Soprano for the 2015/2016 Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program at Vancouver Opera. It was during this time that Eden had her Vancouver Opera solo debut as Countess Ceprano as well as the Page.

 

In addition, Eden 1) understudied Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto in September 2015, 2) sang the role of Soprano in Tom Johnson’s 4 Note Opera in October 2015 with the Yulanda M. Faris young artists, 3) appeared as Lucinda in Nico Muhly’s Dark Sisters, 4) sang Kate Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly in March 2016, 5) understudied the musical theatre role of Mistress in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita and performed as an ensemble member in May 2016. In 2016 and 2017, Eden toured in Eastern Canada with Jeunesses Musicales du Canada’s Emerging Artists on Tour singing Violetta from Verdi’s La traviata.

Most recently, Eden was a chorus member in San Diego Opera’s 2018 production of Puccini’s Turandot.

Eden has sung the roles of Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Lisa from The Land of Smiles, Mére Gerald in Dialogues des Carmélites, and Mary Warren in Robert Ward’s The Crucible with UBC Opera, Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore, Najade in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos with Opera NUOVA, Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with the Vancouver/Victoria Coaching Intensive led by Luke Housner from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.

Eden has also understudied the roles of Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmelites and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Furthermore, she has had the pleasure of performing with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in a concert version of Lehar’s The Land of Smiles where she sung Lisa, as well as scenes from Verdi’s Falstaff as Alice Ford and Wagner’s Der Meistersinger as Eva in The Vancouver Bach Choir’s Verdi/Wagner Bicentennial.

In 2013, Eden received runner-up in the UBC Concerto Competition and was featured as a soloist with the UBC Symphony Orchestra where she sang Schubert’s Der Erlkönig, Orchestrated by Berlioz. Eden won the Johann Strauss Competition in Vancouver, which funded her studies at the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg where she studied with the late Tom Krause. In both 2013 and 2014 Eden received the Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in Vancouver. She was also a selected winner of the 2014 Women’s Musical Society Bursary Competition in Vancouver. In addition, Eden performed as a selected laureate in the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques concerts and Gala in Montréal in November of 2014. In 2016 she was the winner of the Vancouver Opera Guild Bursary Award. Most recently, she won second place at the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus Young Artist Competition.

 

Eden currently lives in Oceanside, California and is studying under Enrique Toral. She is thrilled to be singing Mabel in Bodhi Tree Concerts upcoming production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.
