MAP Fund: Artist Relief

The coalition includes Academy of American PoetsArtadiaCreative CapitalFoundation for Contemporary ArtsMAP FundNational YoungArts Foundation, and United States Artists.


Artist Relief will provide rapid, unrestricted $5,000 relief grants to assist artists facing dire financial emergencies due to the impact of COVID-19; serve as an informational resource; and co-launch the COVID-19 Impact Survey for Artists and Creative Workers, designed by Research Partner Americans for the Arts, to better identify and address the needs of artists moving forward.

American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) Relief Fund

The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) Relief Fund provides support and temporary financial assistance to members who are in need. AGMA contracts with The Actors Fund to administer this program nationally as well as to provide comprehensive social services.

San Diego Artists Fund: Launched on GoFundMe by Jasmin Haddad of San Diego’s New Match Collective, this crowdfunding effort is aimed at supporting individual artists, who can write in to request funds.

The Actors Fund emergency financial assistance: The organization offers a variety of financial-assistance sources to those in theater. (Some eligibility rules may apply.)

SAG-AFTRA Foundation COVID-19 Disaster Fund: Members of the union for movie actors and others can apply for help from this newly launched fund.

Rauschenberg Foundation Emergency Medical Grants: The foundation launched in honor of the late painter and philanthropist is offering emergency medical funding in partnership with the New York Foundation for the Arts. The grants provide visual artists, media artists and choreographers up to $5,000 worth of assistance.

COVID-19 Blues Musician Emergency Relief Fund: Launched by the Blues Foundation, this fund is devoted to supporting blues musicians affected by the coronavirus crisis.

California Employment Development Department support services: This official state resource offers assistance with disability insurance claims, family leave and more.

Coronavirus Preparedness for Theatres: This webinar, presented by the Theatre Communications Group, helps theater groups prepare strategies, forecast budget shifts and navigate insurance issues for canceled productions.

Musicians Foundation: This New York organization provides grants, usually between between $300 and $3,000, to performers of any genre who reside in the U.S. Eigible applicants must have worked professionally in this country for at least five years and have an acute need for assistance stemming from personal, medical or dental needs, or from a family crisis, natural disaster or other emergency situation.

COVID-19 Fund @ Sweet Relief: This Fullerton-based organization will provide a limited amount of funds, for musicians and music industry workers affected by the coronavirus, to help defray medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food and other vital living expenses for those impacted due to sickness or loss of work.

Arts and Culture Leaders of Color Emergency Fund: Provides up to $200 for artists or arts administrators who self-identify as black, indigenous or people of color and whose income has been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Author’s League Fund: Founded in 1916, this Brooklyn-based nonprofit helps professional writers who are in financial need due to medical or health-related problems, temporary loss of income or other misfortune with no-strings-attached “loans” to pay for pressing expenses.

Jazz Foundation Musicians Emergency Fund: This New York-based organization provides emergency funding for musicians who earn their livelihoods performing blues, jazz or roots music.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grants: Offers grants of between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists.
