Chad Frisque - Tenor

​Local tenor Chad Frisque is happy to return in his fifth Bodhi Tree concerts. Heard with such groups as San Diego Opera and Opera Ensemble, San Diego Lyric Opera, La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, Orange County Opera and The Los Angeles Opera, Mr. Frisque has filled his time with many different engagements on the West Coast. An active member of the San Diego Opera Chorus, Mr. Frisque was a member of The White Knight Committee to Save San Diego Opera. Chad continues to work on projects which make local and artistic impacts.

A past member of the San Diego Opera Ensemble, Chad was seen as First Soldier/Student in Des McAnuff’s praised staging of Alban Berg’s Wozzeck, The Herold in Don Carlo, and Giuseppe in La Traviata. Nationally seen in such productions as Falstaff with Opera Omaha, Pirates of Penzance with the Denver Symphony, Candide in Candide with Central City Opera and Peter Grimes with Los Angeles Opera.

 

Comfortable both on the Opera stage as well as the concert stage, Chad has sung tenor soloist in such works as Oedipus in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex, The Recitant, in Berlioz’ L’Enfant du Christ and British Soldier in Britten’s War Requiem, J. S. Bach’s Magnificat, Weihnachtsoratorium as well as Messiah.
