A musical consideration of injustice through the music of the  'Dean of Black Composers' WILLIAM GRANT STILL. Featuring the San Diego premiere of the disturbing yet gorgeous choral cantata

And They Lynched Him On A Tree

conducted by David Chase with contralto soloist Judith Malone.

 

The concert will also feature Spirituals sung by the M.L.K. Jr. Community Choir, with Ken Anderson conductor, 

along with guest singer Dale Fleming to perform 

the Billie Holiday classic, "Strange Fruit".
