As with most  Gilbert and Sullivan operas, the plot of Trial by Jury is ludicrous, but the characters behave as if the events were perfectly reasonable. There are pointed barbs aimed at the hypocrisy, especially of those in authority, as well as at the sometimes base motives of supposedly respectable people and institutions. Sounds like a perfect escape from today's news or maybe too close for comfort? In either case, enjoy our annual romp through the G&S canon with the added bonus of an Act II of your favorite G&S choruses!
