the San Diego premiere of 8 SONGS FOR A MAD KING
8 Songs for a Mad King, a daring, interactive audience experience with contemporary themes, comparing Mad King George III of England and the current POTUS. 8 Songs for a Mad King represents maverick composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies at his most avant-garde. Performed with chamber orchestra - a must see for the artistically adventurous.
Featuring Walter DuMelle as the Mad King, with stage direction by award winning Kim Strassburger. Musically directed by modern music master Brendan Nguyen leading a chamber orchestra made up of local artists specializing in contemporary music.
8 SONGS FOR A MAD KING will be performed at The US Grant Hotel’s Bivouac Ballroom located at 326 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101.
$15 valet parking available.
Performances: Thursday, June 22 at 7:30, Saturday, June 24, 7:30pm and Sunday, June 25 at 4pm
